About Scandinavia & Finland (Lapland)

  • Our packages5 to 10 nights

Scandinavia and Finland suit Indian travellers who want northern scenery, well-run cities and either winter snow or long summer daylight. Our packages focus on two countries. Finland offers Helsinki, the Finnish Lakeland and Lapland, where Rovaniemi gives access to the Arctic. Norway offers Oslo, Bergen, the fjords and Tromsø in the Arctic north.

Our packages are land-only. Each one covers your hotel nights, private-vehicle transfers and sightseeing as set out in your itinerary, with daily breakfast and visa assistance. Flights are booked separately. Choose Lapland Northern Lights & Santa Village 5N for a winter trip in Rovaniemi, Norway Fjords 7N for Oslo, Bergen and a fjord day, or Scandinavia 10N for Helsinki, Oslo and Bergen.

Timing matters more than anything else. The Northern Lights season runs from late August to April, so winter suits aurora trips. June to August brings long daylight and the widest range of open attractions. Read the travel guide and the best time to visit page before you choose dates.

Sweden and Denmark are part of Scandinavia, but our research for these packages covers Finland and Norway only. Ask your planner before adding those countries. For another northern trip, see our Iceland tour packages or our Europe tour packages.

    BreakfastNight in Rovaniemi
  2. Day2

    Santa-themed experiences in Rovaniemi

    BreakfastNight in Rovaniemi
  3. Day3

    Arctic and winter activities

Take part in the Arctic and winter activities set out in your itinerary. Lapland's winter brings snow and very cold conditions, so dress in layers and keep the schedule flexible. 4. Day4

Free day and a Northern Lights outing

Use the day to rest or to join optional activities at your own cost. In the evening, join the Northern Lights outing in your itinerary. Sightings depend on clear skies and weather, so treat the outing as a chance rather than a certainty, and dress warmly.

Budget guide

How much does a Scandinavia & Finland (Lapland) trip cost?

Cost depends on the country, the season and the length of your trip. Both Finland and Norway are high-cost by European standards, and Norway is especially costly for dining, hotels and transport. Summer and the aurora season are usually the priciest periods, while April to May and September to October are often cheaper. Hotel area and transfers also change the total. Flights are not included in our packages. See trip cost.

FAQs

Scandinavia & Finland (Lapland) tour package FAQs

Quick answers to what travellers ask before booking a Scandinavia & Finland (Lapland) trip. Ask your trip expert anything else.

How many days do I need for Finland and Norway?

Five to seven nights suits one area well. Lapland works as a five-night winter trip, and a seven-night trip covers Oslo and Bergen with a fjord day. Ten nights allows Helsinki, Oslo and Bergen at a steady pace. Shorter trips work best if you choose one country.

Do your Scandinavia and Finland packages include flights?

No. Our packages are land-only and cover your hotel nights, transfers and sightseeing in your itinerary. Flights are booked separately. Helsinki Airport (HEL) is the main international gateway to Finland, and Oslo and Bergen have their own airports for Norway. Your planner can suggest timings from your city.

Is Lapland only a winter trip?

Finland is a year-round destination. Winter brings snow, short days and Northern Lights chances, while June and July are the main warm-weather months. Our Lapland package suits the winter months, when snow and aurora chances are highest.

Can I see the Northern Lights?

The aurora season runs from late August to April, and peak viewing is often December to February or February to March. Sightings depend on clear skies and weather, so they cannot be promised. Your planner can build evening outings into your itinerary and advise on dates.

Is Finland or Norway safe for Indian travellers?

Both countries are generally considered safe, with low violent crime. Watch your valuables in busy areas and transport hubs. In winter, prepare for icy roads, snow and short daylight, and check weather and transport updates before you travel.

What language is spoken?

Finnish and Swedish are official in Finland, and Norwegian is official in Norway. English is widely spoken in cities, hotels, tourist sites and transport, so Indian travellers usually manage comfortably in English.

Which currency is used?

Finland uses the euro (EUR), and Norway uses the Norwegian krone (NOK). Check the current rates before you exchange money or pay by card, and compare what you receive.

Are these countries expensive?

Yes. Finland is high-cost by European standards, and Norway is widely regarded as high-cost, especially for dining, hotels and transport. Your planner can give a written quote with every inclusion listed, so you can compare it with your budget.

Can I add Lapland to a Norway trip?

Lapland is in Finland. Adding it to a Norway trip would need more nights and domestic travel, which are not included in the packages. Ask your planner for a custom quote if you want to combine the two.

Does the package include a visa?

Visa assistance is included, and visa fees are separate. Rules for each country must be confirmed with the official source before you book, because they can change. Your planner can explain what help is available for your application.
