At a glance
Bangkok and Pattaya are two places that most travellers visit together. Bangkok, the Thai capital, offers royal temples, a historic riverside, Chinatown and large markets. Pattaya is a beach city about two to three hours away by road, with Coral Island, Pattaya Beach and the Sanctuary of Truth, a large carved wooden structure. Together they give Indian travellers a full Thailand trip without flying between the two.
Most visitors fly into Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Direct flights run from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, taking about four to five hours. Bangkok is served by the BTS Skytrain, the MRT, taxis, app-based cars, buses and boats, so the city is easy to cover without a car. Within Pattaya, songthaews, taxis, app-based cars and motorbike taxis are the usual options.
Five days covers the principal temples, Chinatown, Pattaya Beach, Coral Island and the Sanctuary of Truth at a practical pace. Seven days is the ideal length for a first visit, because it adds Chatuchak Weekend Market, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and some rest time. Choose Bangkok Shopping & Food 3N for a city-focused break, or Bangkok Pattaya Family Fun 4N for families who want both cities.
Our packages are land-only and include visa assistance, with breakfast daily. Flights, other meals, entry fees and activities not listed are extra. For planning detail, read the Bangkok and Pattaya travel guide. If you want to add another Thai region, see our Thailand tour packages. Travellers who prefer a beach-focused coastal trip can compare Phuket and Krabi tour packages.

Season guide
November to February is the most suitable period for sightseeing, with cooler temperatures and lower rainfall. December and January are the busiest months, so book hotels early. March is hot and mostly dry, and April is very hot with more showers and Songkran travel. May to October is the wet season, with the heaviest rain in September and October. Day by day
Based on our Bangkok Shopping & Food 3N package. Your trip expert can stretch or shorten any day.
Arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and transfer to your Bangkok hotel. Check in and rest after the flight. In the evening, walk to Yaowarat, Bangkok's Chinatown, and try street food after sunset. Start with small portions from several stalls rather than one large meal, so you can sample more dishes.
Start early at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Dress with shoulders and knees covered. After a midday break, visit Wat Pho and allow time for the full temple compound, not only the reclining Buddha hall. End at Wat Arun, crossing the Chao Phraya River from Tha Tien for views of its decorated central prang.
If your dates fall on a weekend, go to Chatuchak Weekend Market in the morning for clothing, crafts, food and souvenirs. Carry water, because many sections are crowded and partly open to the sun. On a weekday, spend the morning on the Chao Phraya River using the public Chao Phraya Express Boat. Keep the afternoon for shopping and rest before your final evening.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and check out. Pack purchases from the market separately so they are easy to carry. Your transfer takes you to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) for departure or to your onward connection, so allow extra time for traffic and airport check-in. Keep your passport, arrival documents and onward tickets in one bag for the journey.
Budget guide
Starting prices of our packages, per person on twin sharing, excl. GST and flights.
Four things shape the cost of a Bangkok and Pattaya trip: hotel area and category, trip length, season and the activities you add. Central Bangkok areas and beachfront stays in Pattaya cost more than budget guesthouses. Peak months from December to January raise prices, and each extra night adds hotel and transfer costs. Flights are not included in our packages. Read Bangkok and Pattaya trip cost for the full list of drivers.
