A Bangkok and Pattaya holiday can suit a range of budgets, because hotel choice and trip length change the total a great deal. This page explains what drives the cost, so you can compare quotes on the same basis. It covers the cost drivers only. For the price of a specific package, see our Bangkok and Pattaya tour packages or ask a planner for a quote.

What drives the cost of a Bangkok and Pattaya trip?

Four factors shape most of the price. Hotel area and category come first. Central Bangkok areas such as Sukhumvit, Silom and the riverside cost more than budget areas such as Bangkok Old Town and Pratunam. In Pattaya, beachfront stays and resorts cost more than central Pattaya or North Pattaya. Trip length comes next, because every extra night adds hotel and transfer costs. Season is third, and the final factor is what you add to the trip.

How do hotel areas and categories compare?

Budget stays are usually guesthouses or two-star to three-star hotels in areas such as Bangkok Old Town, Pratunam and Pattaya Central, with room-only or breakfast-included options. Standard stays are three-star to four-star hotels in areas such as Sukhumvit, Silom, the riverside and Jomtien, with breakfast included. Premium stays are four-star hotels or serviced apartments in riverside, Sukhumvit, Pattaya Beach Road or Jomtien areas. Luxury stays are five-star hotels or resorts, with breakfast included and other meals arranged by the itinerary.

How does season change the price?

December and January are the busiest months, and hotels and flights tend to cost more during those weeks. February is also busy. November and March can offer good weather at a moderate cost. The wetter months from May to October usually have fewer visitors, which can lower some rates, but heavy rain can limit your plans. Check the dates you want, rather than relying on a general rule.

What is included in a land package?

Our packages are land-only. They cover hotel nights on twin sharing, breakfast each day, local transfers and the sightseeing in the itinerary. Visa assistance is included. Flights, meals not in the itinerary, entry fees and activities not listed, travel insurance, personal shopping and GST are extra. The Coral Island day trip in the family package and the Chatuchak market visit in the shopping package are part of their itineraries.

How do transfers and transport add to the cost?

Transport within Bangkok is flexible, using the BTS Skytrain, the MRT, taxis, app-based cars, buses and boats. Costs depend on how often you travel and whether you choose private transport. Moving between Bangkok and Pattaya usually takes two to three hours by bus, taxi or private transfer. A private transfer costs more than a shared option but can save time and effort with luggage or children. Within Pattaya, songthaews, taxis and app-based cars cover short trips.

How do activities change the total?

A river trip, a Coral Island day or a visit to Nong Nooch Tropical Garden can be an optional extra unless your package includes it. Check each activity for entry fees and whether a licensed operator is involved. Water activities need a licensed operator and calm sea conditions, which can change the plan at short notice. Building in a spare day helps you move an activity without extra cost.

How can you compare quotes fairly?

Ask every provider for the same details: the hotel area and category, the number of nights, whether breakfast is included, the transfers and the sightseeing list. Check what is excluded, especially flights, meals, insurance and GST. Compare the day-by-day plan as well as the price, because a lower quote may have fewer hours of sightseeing or a longer transfer. Our Bangkok Shopping & Food 3N and Bangkok Pattaya Family Fun 4N packages list their inclusions and exclusions on the same basis.

How was this guide compiled?

This guide is compiled from published tourism, weather and transport information and traveller reports. It was last checked on 2 November 2026. Hotel rates and transport fares change often, so confirm the current figures with a planner before you book.

FAQs

Bangkok & Pattaya Trip Cost: FAQs

Short answers to what travellers ask about Bangkok & Pattaya.

What is the biggest factor in the cost of a Bangkok trip?

Hotel area and category usually matter most. Central areas such as Sukhumvit, Silom and the riverside cost more than budget areas such as Bangkok Old Town and Pratunam. Trip length and season are the next biggest factors. Compare hotel areas with the same star category and breakfast details.

Are flights included in your Bangkok and Pattaya packages?

No. Our packages are land-only, so flights are booked separately. Direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru take about four to five hours. Ask a planner for suitable arrival and departure timings before you book. Ask for the arrival and departure timings you need, so flights can be planned around your itinerary.

Does the package price include breakfast?

Yes. Daily breakfast is included in our packages. Other meals are extra unless they are listed in the itinerary. Ask your planner for the meal basis of the hotel you choose. Check each package's inclusions for the breakfast details and any meals listed in the itinerary.

Why does the hotel area change the price?

Central Bangkok areas and beachfront stays in Pattaya are in higher demand, so rates are higher. Budget areas such as Bangkok Old Town and Pratunam, or central Pattaya, cost less. The area also changes how much you spend on transport.

Is December more expensive than November?

Usually, yes. December is busy around the holiday period, and hotels and flights cost more. November offers cooler weather and rising visitor numbers at a moderate cost. Check the dates you want with a planner. Compare dates in both months with a planner before you choose.

Do I pay extra for a Coral Island trip?

The Coral Island day is part of the Bangkok Pattaya Family Fun 4N itinerary. In other trips, check whether it is included. Water activities need a licensed operator, and their cost depends on the activities you choose. Ask your planner which water activities and transfers are included in the quote.

Is a private transfer to Pattaya worth the cost?

A private transfer costs more than a shared option, but it can save time, especially with luggage or young children. The journey usually takes two to three hours, depending on traffic and the departure point. Compare the cost with the time saved and the luggage you carry.

What should I ask for in a written quote?

Ask for the hotel area and category, the number of nights, breakfast details, transfers, the sightseeing list and the exclusions. Check whether flights, insurance, meals and GST are included, and compare the day-by-day plan with the price. Ask whether a quote can be changed if your dates move.
