At a glance
Dubai is a coastal desert city in the United Arab Emirates, on the Arabian Gulf. For Indian travellers it is an easy city break: English is widely spoken, flights from major Indian cities take three to five hours, and hotels, attractions and transport are built for visitors. It works for couples, families and groups, and for first-time travellers abroad.
A visit is made of a few distinct areas. Downtown Dubai holds Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain. Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina offer beaches and waterfront evenings. Old Dubai, around Al Fahidi and Dubai Creek, shows the city's trading past, and a desert safari adds dunes at sunset. Abu Dhabi, with Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, is a day trip of about 90 minutes to two hours each way.
Most travellers fly into Dubai International Airport (DXB), and November to March is the most comfortable time to go. Five days covers the main sights, and seven days is ideal if you want a slower pace and an Abu Dhabi day. Choose from Dubai Classic 4N, Dubai Abu Dhabi 5N, Dubai Family with Theme Parks 5N, Dubai Honeymoon 4N and Dubai Shopping Festival Special 4N, or ask us to customise one. Our planners group the sights by area, so you spend your time sightseeing instead of in traffic, and every quote lists exactly what is included. Why go
Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain sit in one district, so a single day covers them.
Palm Jumeirah resort beaches, the Palm monorail and Atlantis attractions, with skyline viewpoints close by.
Dubai Marina and JBR a walkable waterfront with beach access and restaurants, best after sunset.
Old Dubai wind-tower architecture, souks and the inexpensive abra boat crossing at Dubai Creek.
Desert safari dune landscapes and evening desert experiences, including conservation-focused options in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and Qasr Al Watan, about 90 minutes to two hours each way by road.
Where to go
Adds Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Qasr Al Watan and a distinct capital-city experience. A Dubai-based day trip is feasible, but mosque entry rules, clothing requirements and inter-emirate traffic need advance planning.
Combines Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountain and central dining in one district. Pre-book Burj Khalifa timed entry and do not treat Dubai Mall as a short photo stop; it can consume half a day.
Combines dune landscapes with conservation-focused safaris and evening desert experiences. Check whether the operator enters the conservation reserve or only nearby dunes; the experience and wildlife access differ.
Frames contrasting views of historic Dubai and the modern skyline from one landmark. Pair it with Old Dubai rather than Downtown, because it sits closer to Bur Dubai and Zabeel.
Provides a walkable waterfront, beach access, restaurants and evening skyline views. Visit after sunset for better temperatures, but allow extra transfer time during weekend traffic.
Shows historic wind-tower architecture, souks, abra crossings and creekside trading heritage. The abra crossing is inexpensive, and souks and heritage lanes are best visited before the hottest afternoon hours.
Offers resort beaches, the Palm monorail, Atlantis attractions and skyline viewpoints. Cluster Atlantis and The View together; road traffic can make short cross-Palm transfers unexpectedly slow.
Season guide
November to March is the most comfortable time to visit Dubai. December to February is the coolest, with highs of 24°C to 26°C, but it is also peak season with higher prices. November and March are slightly warmer and good value. Avoid June to September: highs reach 39°C to 41°C, humidity is high, and outdoor sightseeing is hard, although hotel rates are usually lower. Day by day
Based on our Dubai Classic 4N package. Your trip expert can stretch or shorten any day.
Land at Dubai International Airport and meet your driver for the transfer to your hotel. Check in and rest after the journey. In the evening, take an easy walk around Downtown Dubai to get your bearings. Keep the first night light, because the next days cover several areas.
Spend the day in Downtown Dubai, where Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain sit in one district. Your timed Burj Khalifa entry is booked in advance. Do not treat the mall as a short stop, because it can take half a day. Keep the afternoon flexible and rest during the hottest hours.
Start in Old Dubai before the afternoon heat. Walk the lanes of Al Fahidi with their wind-tower architecture, visit the souks and cross Dubai Creek by abra. Return to the hotel to rest, then head out in the late afternoon for an evening desert safari with dunes at sunset.
Drive to Palm Jumeirah for resort beaches and skyline viewpoints, and allow extra time for traffic across the Palm. Rest in the afternoon, then visit Dubai Marina and JBR after sunset, when temperatures are better and the waterfront is at its best.
Enjoy breakfast and check out. If your flight is later in the day, use the morning for a relaxed walk or last shopping. Your driver takes you to Dubai International Airport for departure, leaving enough time for traffic and check-in.
Budget guide
Starting prices of our packages, per person on twin sharing, excl. GST and flights.
Four things move the price of a Dubai trip. Hotel area and star category matter most: Downtown and Marina cost more than Bur Dubai or Deira. Length comes next, and adding Abu Dhabi raises the total. Season counts too, since December to February and New Year are peak, while the summer months are cheaper. Finally, check desert safari inclusions. Flights are not included in our packages. FAQs
Quick answers to what travellers ask before booking a Dubai trip. Ask your trip expert anything else.
Five days covers the main sights: Downtown and Burj Khalifa, Old Dubai and the Creek, Palm Jumeirah, Marina and a desert safari. Seven days adds an Abu Dhabi day trip and relaxed beach time. Three days works only as a tight highlights trip with no Abu Dhabi.
November to March is the most comfortable, with daytime highs of about 24°C to 31°C, good for sightseeing, beaches and desert activities. December to February is peak season with higher prices. June to September is very hot, with highs near 40°C, so plan indoor activities.
Most Indian ordinary-passport holders need a UAE visit visa before travel. A limited 14-day visa on arrival exists for some holders of US or European residence documents, but it is conditional and the rules have been changing. Confirm with UAE immigration, your airline or an authorised visa channel before you book.
Yes. Air-conditioned attractions, theme parks, aquariums, beaches and family-friendly hotels make Dubai easy with children. Summer heat needs careful scheduling, so plan outdoor activities for early morning or after sunset and keep malls and indoor attractions for midday.
Yes. Abu Dhabi is usually about 90 minutes to two hours each way by road, traffic permitting. Plan ahead for Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, where entry rules and clothing requirements apply, and allow for inter-emirate traffic. A seven-day trip fits it comfortably.
No. Our packages are land-only and cover the hotel, transfers and sightseeing agreed in your itinerary. Flights are booked separately, and our planners can suggest suitable timings from your city. Visa and travel insurance are also arranged separately unless your itinerary says otherwise.
Downtown Dubai is the most convenient first-visit base, near Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall with Metro links, though it costs more. Dubai Marina or JBR suits beach and waterfront evenings. Bur Dubai or Karama suits families who want Indian food, souks and easy Metro access.
It can be, particularly for centrally located hotels, premium attractions, taxis and luxury dining. The Metro and local restaurants, including Indian eateries in Bur Dubai, Karama and Deira, reduce costs. Travelling outside December to February also helps.
The Metro is convenient for Downtown, Dubai Marina, Deira and other key corridors, and a Nol card works on Metro, tram and bus. Taxis or private transfers are more practical for desert safaris, beaches and attractions away from the line.
Book early for December to February and New Year, when demand is high and prices are higher. In the shoulder and summer months there is more flexibility. Ask your planner for a written quote with every inclusion listed before you pay.
