At a glance
Azerbaijan is a country on the Caspian Sea, where Eastern Europe meets Western Asia. Baku, the capital, is the usual starting point. Its UNESCO-listed Old City, Caspian waterfront and modern architecture fit into three or four nights. Indian travellers reach Baku on nonstop flights from Delhi and Mumbai, which take roughly five hours, so a short trip is practical.
Our packages are built around Baku as a base. From the city you can reach Gobustan's rock engravings and mud volcanoes, the Absheron Peninsula with Ateshgah Fire Temple and Yanar Dag, and the Old City's Maiden Tower and Palace of the Shirvanshahs. Longer trips add Gabala, a mountain area with the Tufandag cable car, or Sheki, a Silk Road town with a Khan's Palace and caravanserais.
Two packages cover these trips. Baku Honeymoon 4N suits couples who want four nights in one Baku base, with a private Old City tour and a Gobustan excursion. Baku & Gabala 5N adds two nights in Gabala and a stop at Shamakhi on the way. Both are land-only, so flights are booked separately, and visa assistance is included.
Plan the trip with our Azerbaijan travel guide, read how to reach Azerbaijan, and check the Azerbaijan visa guide for Indians. Travellers often say a week suits a first visit. If you are comparing destinations, Georgia tour packages offer more wine-country and hiking depth, while Azerbaijan feels more urban and architecture-focused around Baku.

Day by day
Based on our Baku & Gabala 5N package. Your trip expert can stretch or shorten any day.
Land at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and transfer to your Baku hotel by private vehicle, which typically takes 25 to 40 minutes. Check in, rest and take an easy evening walk on Baku Boulevard. Keep the evening light, because the next days cover the Old City, Gobustan and the road to Gabala.
Spend the morning on a walking tour of Icherisheher, the UNESCO-listed Old City, with the Maiden Tower and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs. Visit the Carpet Museum if time allows. In the evening, see the Flame Towers and walk the Caspian waterfront.
Travel by private vehicle to Gobustan National Park for prehistoric rock engravings and the Gobustan museum. Visit the nearby mud volcanoes if weather and road conditions allow. Bring water and sun protection, because outdoor time is long. Return to Baku in the late afternoon and rest.
Leave Baku by private vehicle and stop in Shamakhi to see its historic mosques and the vineyards on the route. Continue to Gabala in the Caucasus foothills and check in. The road journey takes time, so keep the evening relaxed and enjoy the mountain air.
Spend the day in Gabala's mountain scenery. The Tufandag cable car is the main outdoor activity, but operations can pause in high winds, so a lowland option is kept ready. Snow activities depend on the season and are not promised outside winter. Rest at the hotel in the evening.
Enjoy breakfast in Gabala and drive back to Baku. If your flight is late, ask your planner about a short Absheron stop at Ateshgah Fire Temple or Yanar Dag on the way. Your driver takes you to Heydar Aliyev International Airport with time for check-in.
Budget guide
Starting prices of our packages, per person on twin sharing, excl. GST and flights.
Three things move the cost of an Azerbaijan trip. Hotel category and area matter most, since five-star stays on the Boulevard, Flame Towers or White City cost more than three-star options in the Old City or Nizami Street. Length and private day trips come next, especially a full car and driver for Sheki, Gabala or Quba. Season adds to the total in peak months. Flights are not included in our packages.
