About this trip

Bangkok Shopping & Food 3N is a short city break for travellers who want markets, street food and the main temples in one trip. Three nights at one Bangkok hotel mean you unpack once and reach most sights by river boat or local transport. It suits friends, couples and first-time visitors to Thailand who want a compact, food-led itinerary.

Day two covers the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, which sit close together on the riverside. On day three, the itinerary places Chatuchak Weekend Market on a weekend, with clothing, crafts, food and souvenirs in one location. On a weekday, the same day moves to the Chao Phraya River. Chinatown in Yaowarat is the first evening stop, so you can start with street food on arrival.

Local transfers and the sightseeing in the itinerary are included, with breakfast daily and visa assistance. Flights are booked separately. Other meals, entry fees, activities not listed, travel insurance and personal shopping are extra. For more planning detail, read the Bangkok and Pattaya travel guide and things to do in Bangkok and Pattaya.

  • Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun on one riverside day
  • Chatuchak Weekend Market for clothing, crafts and souvenirs
  • Chinatown street food after sunset in Yaowarat
  • A Chao Phraya River crossing by public boat
  • One Bangkok hotel base for all three nights

Day-by-day itinerary

Your trip expert can stretch, shorten or swap any day.

  1. Day 1: Arrival and Chinatown by night

Arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and transfer to your Bangkok hotel. Check in and rest after the flight. In the evening, walk to Yaowarat, Bangkok's Chinatown, and try street food after sunset. Start with small portions from several stalls rather than one large meal, so you can sample more dishes.

    Night in Bangkok
  2. Day 2: Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun

Start early at the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Dress with shoulders and knees covered. After a midday break, visit Wat Pho and allow time for the full temple compound, not only the reclining Buddha hall. End at Wat Arun, crossing the Chao Phraya River from Tha Tien for views of its decorated central prang.

    BreakfastNight in Bangkok
  3. Day 3: Chatuchak Market or the riverside

If your dates fall on a weekend, go to Chatuchak Weekend Market in the morning for clothing, crafts, food and souvenirs. Carry water, because many sections are crowded and partly open to the sun. On a weekday, spend the morning on the Chao Phraya River using the public Chao Phraya Express Boat. Keep the afternoon for shopping and rest before your final evening.

    BreakfastNight in Bangkok
  4. Day 4: Departure from Bangkok

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and check out. Pack purchases from the market separately so they are easy to carry. Your transfer takes you to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) for departure or to your onward connection, so allow extra time for traffic and airport check-in. Keep your passport, arrival documents and onward tickets in one bag for the journey.

FAQs

Bangkok Shopping & Food 3N: FAQs

What travellers ask about this trip. Your trip expert can answer anything else.

Is 3 nights enough for a Bangkok shopping and food trip?

Three nights covers the main temples and riverside on day two, a market day on a weekend and Chinatown after dark. Shopping can take longer than one morning, so add a night if you want a second full market day or a slower pace before departure.

What does the Bangkok Shopping & Food 3N package include?

Three nights in a comfort-category hotel on twin sharing, daily breakfast, local transfers and the sightseeing in the itinerary, plus visa assistance. Flights, other meals, entry fees and activities not listed, travel insurance and GST are not included in the package price.

Does the package include flights to Bangkok?

No. Our packages are land-only, so flights are booked separately. Direct flights run from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, taking about 4.3 to 4.8 hours depending on the route. Our planners can suggest arrival and departure times that suit your itinerary and check-in.

Do Indian travellers need a visa for this package?

Indian ordinary passport holders can enter Thailand visa-free for tourism for up to 30 days under the exemption effective from 15 September 2026. The passport must be valid for at least six months, and the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card must be completed within three days before arrival.

When is the best time for this package?

November to February is the most suitable period, with cooler temperatures and lower rainfall. December and January are busier. From June to October, rain is more frequent, so plan indoor stops for wet afternoons and keep the market visit for the morning.

Can I add Pattaya to this Bangkok package?

Yes. Our Bangkok Pattaya Family Fun 4N package covers both cities, and a custom version can add Pattaya to this trip. Pattaya is about two to three hours from Bangkok by bus, taxi or private transfer, so plan it as a separate block of nights.
