Sri Lanka is an island nation in the Indian Ocean, and a short flight from many Indian cities. For first-time travellers it packs ancient cities, tea-country hills, wildlife parks and beaches into one compact trip. English is widely used in tourism, so planning and travel on the ground are simpler for Indian visitors.
Most itineraries are built around the two coasts and the season. The west and south coasts, together with the central Cultural Triangle, are generally best from December to March. The east and north coasts suit April to September. Popular first-trip combinations include Colombo or Negombo, Kandy, Sigiriya or Dambulla, Nuwara Eliya or Ella, a south-coast beach and Galle, with Yala added for wildlife.
Our packages are land-only. Each one covers hotels on twin sharing, daily breakfast, private-vehicle transfers, the sightseeing listed in the itinerary and visa assistance. Flights, visa charges, travel insurance and personal spending are separate. Ask a planner to adjust any route to your dates. For background, read the Sri Lanka travel guide and the Sri Lanka visa guide for Indians.
Four packages give you a starting point. The Ramayana Trail 5N links Dambulla, Sigiriya, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya on a heritage and temple route.
