Ramayana Trail 5N is a compact heritage and pilgrimage route through the cultural triangle and hill country. It starts in Negombo, moves inland to Sigiriya and Kandy, and ends in the cool tea country of Nuwara Eliya. It suits families, senior travellers and pilgrim groups who want temples and scenery with limited hotel changes.
The route visits the Dambulla Cave Temple, the Sigiriya rock citadel and Kandy's Temple of the Tooth. Despite the name, this draft route is built from the heritage and pilgrimage places we have confirmed. Ask your planner which Ramayana-linked sites they can add, because these are not part of the confirmed plan. Two nights in Kandy keep the temple visit unhurried.
Everything on the ground moves by private vehicle, with daily breakfast, airport transfers, the listed sightseeing and visa assistance included. Flights, other meals, entry fees not listed, any visa or ETA charge and travel insurance are extra. Read our Sri Lanka places to visit guide and Sri Lanka tour packages for more routes.
