Italy is a country of art cities, ancient ruins, lakes, mountains and coastline, linked by a strong rail network. For Indian travellers it is a rewarding European trip, because one route can combine the Colosseum, the Uffizi, Venice's islands and a Tuscan countryside day. Italy is not a single-region holiday, so the planning choice is which places to include and how many nights to give each one.
Most trips from India fly into Rome Fiumicino (FCO) or Milan Malpensa (MXP). Delhi is the only departure city with direct flights in our research, and most other cities connect once through a Gulf, Turkish or European hub. Indian passport holders need a Schengen short-stay visa before travel. The visa fee is separate from the package, and our packages include visa assistance.
Two packages are available now. Italy Classic 8N covers Rome, Florence and Venice in eight nights, with the Colosseum, the Uffizi, a Tuscan winery lunch and the islands of Murano and Burano. Italy & Amalfi Coast Honeymoon 9N adds the Amalfi Coast, a boat day to Capri and a private boat experience. Both can be adjusted to your dates and pace.
Plan a week for the classic route and at least ten days if you want the south. Read our Italy travel guide for the full planning picture, along with the best time to visit Italy and Italy trip cost pages. If you plan to combine Italy with another European stay, see our Switzerland tour packages.
