About Singapore

  • Our packages4 to 5 nights
  • Best timeFeb to Apr
  • Visa for IndiansVisa required

Singapore is an island city-state in Southeast Asia, and one of the easiest international trips from India. English is widely used, transport is efficient, and the main attractions sit close together. Nonstop flights from most major Indian cities take about four and a half to six hours, and most visitors land at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). That makes it a good fit for a short break as well as a longer family holiday.

A visit is made of a few clear parts. Marina Bay brings together Marina Bay Sands, Merlion Park and the nightly Spectra light show, and Gardens by the Bay sits beside it. Sentosa Island offers beaches, cable-car views and Universal Studios Singapore. Mandai Wildlife Reserve groups the zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders and Bird Paradise in one northern precinct. Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Gelam add temples, food and heritage streets.

Singapore is hot and humid all year, and rain falls in every month. February to April is usually drier, while November to January is wetter. Four to five days covers the principal city, Sentosa and one Mandai day. Our planners group sights by area, so you spend less time in transfers, and every quote lists exactly what is included. For deeper planning, read our Singapore travel guide, places to visit in Singapore and Singapore trip cost. Singapore also pairs with Malaysia for a longer trip.

Our verdict

February to April is generally the most comfortable time for sightseeing, with February one of the drier months at about 112 mm of rain. Singapore is warm all year, with highs of 31°C to 32°C, so you can travel in any month. May and June feel hotter, and November to January bring the heaviest rain, with December the wettest. December and school holidays also raise prices. See best time to visit Singapore.

Day by day

Sample 5-day Singapore itinerary

Based on our Singapore Family Fun 4N package. Your trip expert can stretch or shorten any day.

  1. Day1

    Arrival and Marina Bay

Land at Singapore Changi Airport and meet your driver for the transfer to your hotel, which usually takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Check in and rest. In the evening, walk along Marina Bay to Merlion Park and watch the nightly Spectra light show. Keep the first day light, because the next days involve a lot of walking.

    BreakfastNight in Singapore
  2. Day2

Gardens by the Bay and the civic district

Start early at Gardens by the Bay, when the heat is lower. Visit the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, which are climate-controlled and give children a cool break. Return near sunset for the Supertree Grove, then spend the rest of the day around the civic district. Entry to the conservatories is timed, so keep to your slot.

    BreakfastNight in Singapore
  3. Day3

    Sentosa or Universal Studios

Spend the day on Sentosa Island. Choose Universal Studios Singapore for a full theme-park day, or a slower day with cable-car views, beaches and waterfront dining. Do not try to cover the whole island in one afternoon, because queues build quickly. Plan indoor breaks, drink plenty of water and leave Sentosa before the evening rush.

    BreakfastNight in Singapore
  4. Day4

    Mandai Wildlife Reserve

Treat today as a full-day excursion to the northern Mandai precinct, which groups Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Bird Paradise and other wildlife experiences. Use the reserve shuttle between parks and pace the day around your children's energy. Do not combine Mandai with central sightseeing. Head back to the hotel for a quiet evening.

    BreakfastNight in Singapore
  5. Day5

    Heritage districts and departure

After breakfast and check-out, visit Chinatown, Little India or Kampong Gelam, depending on your flight time. Try a meal at a hawker centre, which many travellers find easy and good value. Temples need modest clothing and footwear that is easy to remove. Your driver then takes you to Changi Airport, with time allowed for check-in.

Budget guide

How much does a Singapore trip cost?

Starting prices of our packages, per person on twin sharing, excl. GST and flights.

Several things move the price of a Singapore trip. Hotel location and category matter most, and a room near an MRT station can save time and taxi costs. Trip length comes next, followed by attraction tickets such as Universal Studios, Mandai and observation decks. Season counts too, since December, school holidays and major events raise rates. Private transfers and upgrades add to the total. Flights are not included in our packages. Read more in Singapore trip cost.

FAQs

Singapore tour package FAQs

Quick answers to what travellers ask before booking a Singapore trip. Ask your trip expert anything else.

How many days are enough for Singapore?

Four to five days cover Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, a Mandai wildlife day and the heritage districts. Six to seven days allow a slower pace, the Botanic Gardens and more food time. Three days works only as a tight highlights trip.

What is the best time to visit Singapore?

February to April is generally preferred for lower rainfall, though Singapore can be visited all year because temperatures stay warm. Expect highs of about 31°C to 32°C and rain in every month. November to January is the wettest period, and December is peak season.

Do Indians need a visa for Singapore?

Yes. Ordinary Indian passport holders generally need a Singapore entry visa before travel, and there is no visa on arrival for them. Applications go through authorised agents or the Singapore mission process. Confirm current rules with the Singapore Consulate before you book.

Is Singapore good for a family holiday?

Yes. Universal Studios, Gardens by the Bay, Mandai wildlife parks and Sentosa suit children, and safe, efficient transport and widespread English make it easy. Plan outdoor visits early and keep indoor breaks, because heat and humidity are constant. Our [family package](/packages/singapore-family-fun-4n/) follows this approach.

Is Singapore good for a honeymoon?

Yes. Skyline dining, gardens at night, luxury hotels and short transfers suit couples. It is stronger for city and resort experiences than for remote beach seclusion. See our [Singapore honeymoon package](/packages/singapore-honeymoon-4n/) for a four-night plan.

Do your Singapore packages include flights?

No. Our packages are land-only and cover the hotel, transfers and sightseeing agreed in your itinerary. Flights are booked separately, and our planners can suggest suitable timings from your city. The visa fee and travel insurance are also separate. Visa assistance is included.

Which area is best to stay in Singapore for a first visit?

Travellers often pick Little India, especially around Farrer Park, for direct MRT links to Marina Bay, Orchard Road, Chinatown and Changi Airport, plus Indian food nearby. Bugis and Orchard suit mid-range stays, and Marina Bay suits a premium stay. Avoid hotels far from an MRT station.

Is public transport easy in Singapore?

Yes. MRT trains and buses are extensive and reliable, and they are usually the most economical way to move around. Contactless bank cards and stored-value transit cards are accepted. Taxis and ride-hailing suit airport transfers and late-night travel.

Can I use UPI in Singapore?

Some merchants may accept cross-border UPI arrangements, but coverage is not universal. Carry a card and some cash. Singapore uses the Singapore dollar, and card payments are widespread. Check with your bank before you travel about fees and limits.

Can I combine Singapore with another country?

Yes. Singapore pairs naturally with Malaysia, and a 14-day plan can add a Malaysia extension. See our [Singapore and Malaysia](/singapore-malaysia-tour-packages/) packages, or compare with [Bangkok and Pattaya](/bangkok-pattaya-tour-packages/). Ask your planner about visa rules for each country.
