FAQs

Spain & Portugal Travel Guide: FAQs

Short answers to what travellers ask about Spain & Portugal.

How many days do I need for Spain and Portugal?

Our packages run seven nights in Barcelona and Madrid, or ten nights across Lisbon and Seville. Seven nights suits a first Spain trip at a steady pace. Ten nights gives time for both countries. A very short trip can cover only one city or one country comfortably.

Is Spain or Portugal safe for tourists?

Both are generally safe. The main risk is pickpocketing and bag theft in crowded areas, on public transport and in nightlife districts. Keep valuables secure, watch your bags in crowds, and use licensed taxis or trusted ride-hailing. Carry travel insurance and copies of your key documents.

What currency is used in Spain and Portugal?

Both countries use the euro (EUR). The exchange rate against the rupee changes often, so check the current rate before you travel. Compare how much you receive before you exchange money or pay by card.

Is English widely spoken?

English is widely understood in Portugal's major cities, hotels and tourist areas. In Spain, it is common in major tourist areas but not universal. Basic Spanish or Portuguese phrases help in smaller towns and in everyday situations.

When is the best time to visit Spain and Portugal?

Spring and early autumn are the strongest seasons. In Spain, April to June and September to October suit sightseeing. Summer is hot and busy, and winter is cooler and quieter, with more rain in northern Portugal.

Do I need a visa for Spain and Portugal?

We have not yet verified the visa rules for Indian passport holders for either country. Check the official government site of each country you will enter, and your airline, before you book. Our packages include visa assistance, but visa fees are extra.

Do your packages include flights?

No. Our packages are land-only, so flights are booked separately. Our planners can suggest arrival and departure timings from your city. Flights usually connect through a hub, and you should confirm the timings with your airline.

Can I see Lisbon and Seville in one trip?

Yes. Our Spain Portugal 10N package covers five nights in Lisbon and five in Seville, with a day out to Sintra. Your planner confirms the transfer between the two cities and can add nights if you want more time.
