Phu Quoc is an island, so you reach it by air or by sea, and most visitors from India fly. The island's main airport is Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC). Direct availability and schedules vary by departure city and travel date, and our research does not yet confirm flight times from Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru. This guide explains the routing options, how to get from the airport to your hotel, how to get around the island and how a mainland stay fits into your trip.
Flights to Phu Quoc
Travel to Phu Quoc is usually by air to Phu Quoc International Airport, with connections through Vietnamese or other regional hubs. A connection adds time, so allow a comfortable gap between flights and check the total journey time before you book. Direct flights are not available from every departure city, and schedules change by season and travel date, so ask your planner for current options.
Our packages are land-only. We do not book flights as part of the package, so flights are arranged separately. Your planner can suggest arrival and departure timings that fit your hotel check-in, the transfer and the sightseeing in your itinerary. Book flights only after your dates are fixed, and allow for the time difference of one and a half hours between India and Phu Quoc.
Arriving at Phu Quoc
On arrival, the usual options are hotel transfers, taxis and ride-hailing. Our packages include airport arrival and departure transfers, so your planner confirms the pick-up details before you travel. Share your flight number and arrival time early, so the driver can meet you on time. Keep your hotel's name, address and phone number with you, and carry your passport for the arrival formalities.
Plan your first afternoon with care, because cross-island traffic can slow every journey. Choose a hotel near the beach or attraction that matters most to you, so you do not need to cross the island on arrival day.
Getting around the island
Visitors typically use hotel transfers, taxis, ride-hailing services, rental motorbikes and private cars. Organised excursions commonly provide transport to beaches, islands and attractions, so they can be the simplest option for a full day out. Our packages include sightseeing transport as per the itinerary, so the main outings are covered in the quote.
Cross-island transfers take longer than they look on a map, so group the sights by area. Keep the central beaches and Dinh Cau in one day, the southern coast in another, and the northern attractions together. If you hire a motorbike, follow local traffic rules and wear a helmet. Check the operating hours of any attraction before you travel, because schedules can change.
Getting to the cable car and islands
The Hon Thom cable car links Phu Quoc with Hon Thom Island, and it is one of the island's main outings. Check the operating status and sea conditions the day before, because weather can affect island excursions. Plan it as a single outing, and allow time for transfers to and from the cable-car point. Your planner confirms the ticket arrangements in your quote.
Ho Chi Minh City and the mainland
The Phu Quoc Ho Chi Minh 6N package adds two nights in Ho Chi Minh City on the Vietnamese mainland. The onward journey from Phu Quoc to Ho Chi Minh City is not included in the price unless your written quote lists it. Your planner confirms the mode and timing, and flights are booked separately. Ask for the full list of inclusions before you accept the quote.
Because the route includes mainland Vietnam, you need a Vietnamese e-visa. The Phu Quoc-only exemption does not cover travel to other parts of the country. See the Phu Quoc visa guide for Indians for the conditions and steps.
Visa and entry
Indian ordinary-passport holders do not need a visa for a Phu Quoc-only stay of up to 30 days, when they arrive directly from abroad or transit through the international transit area and Phu Quoc is their final Vietnamese destination. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the stay. Proof of onward or return travel may be requested, so carry your flight details. Confirm the current rules with the official source before you travel.
