Thailand Highlights 6N is a first-time trip that splits six nights between Bangkok and Phuket. You get the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun and markets in the city, an Ayutthaya day trip, then beach time, Phuket Old Town and a full island-excursion day.
Days two and three stay in Bangkok, with temples and markets on one day and the Ayutthaya ruins on the other. On day four you fly to Phuket, where two full days are left for the beach, Old Town and a boat excursion. You depart on day seven.
Seven days is an ideal length for Bangkok plus one beach region, and it avoids adding Chiang Mai and Koh Samui together. Read the 7-day Thailand itinerary, the places to visit in Thailand guide and the how to reach Thailand page. Prefer Krabi's limestone scenery? Ask us to swap Phuket for Krabi.
Your trip expert can stretch, shorten or swap any day.
Land at Suvarnabhumi Airport and meet your driver for the transfer to your hotel. Check in and rest. Keep the first evening light with a short walk and a Thai dinner, because the next days cover temples, markets and a day trip. A relaxed start helps you recover from the journey.
Visit the Grand Palace and Wat Pho in the morning, and dress for temples with covered shoulders and knees. Cross the river to Wat Arun, then explore Chinatown and a market in the evening. Group the sights by neighbourhood, because Bangkok traffic makes the routing unreliable.
Start early for Ayutthaya, where temple ruins and prang-style monuments make a strong historical day. Group the riverside ruins together to save time, and avoid the midday heat where you can. Return to Bangkok by late afternoon. Do not plan an airport transfer on the same day.
Transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Phuket, booked separately unless your written quote lists it. Your driver meets you for the hotel transfer. Check in and enjoy the afternoon on the beach. Kata, Karon, Bang Tao and Kamala usually give a better balance than Patong.
Spend the day on the beach and by the pool. In the late afternoon, visit Phuket Old Town and a sunset viewpoint. This day gives the trip a slower rhythm after the Bangkok sightseeing, and travellers often say they enjoy this kind of free time the most.
Take a full-day boat excursion to the islands, with swimming and snorkelling. Boat plans depend on the weather and sea conditions, so your operator confirms the exact timing close to the date. Carry sun protection, and follow all marine-safety instructions on the boat and in the water.
Enjoy breakfast and check out. Your driver takes you to Phuket airport for departure, leaving extra time for check-in. If your flight is later in the day, use the morning for a last swim or a short walk, and ask the hotel about late check-out.
Flights are not included.

FAQs
What travellers ask about this trip. Your trip expert can answer anything else.
Seven days is ideal for Bangkok plus one beach region. It covers the main Bangkok sights, an Ayutthaya day and a full island excursion. Adding Chiang Mai and Koh Samui as well would make the trip rushed, so choose ten days or more for that.
Six nights in comfort-category hotels on twin sharing, daily breakfast, private airport transfers, an Ayutthaya day trip, an island excursion as per the itinerary, sightseeing by private vehicle and visa assistance. Flights, other meals, extra entry fees and insurance are not included.
Yes. Phuket has broader hotel, nightlife and excursion choices, while Krabi is generally better for limestone scenery and a quieter base. Tell your planner your preference and the quote is adjusted. Both are on the Andaman coast.
No, not unless your written quote lists it. The Bangkok to Phuket leg needs a domestic flight, which you book separately. Our planners can suggest timings that fit your arrival and departure, and we advise booking early for peak dates.
November to February is generally the most comfortable time for Bangkok and the Andaman coast. December to February is peak season with higher prices and strong demand. Between May and October showers increase and boat services can reduce.
