About this trip

Istanbul Cappadocia Honeymoon 6N pairs two very different settings: three nights in Istanbul and three in Cappadocia. Istanbul brings Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, the Blue Mosque and an evening on the Bosphorus. Cappadocia adds cave settlements, fairy chimneys and valley views, with a sunrise balloon flight if you choose to add one.

The pace is deliberate. You change hotels only once, with a single domestic flight between the two bases. Travellers say couples enjoy this trip more when long transfers are limited and the balloon booking has a spare morning, because wind and fog can cancel flights. We keep the sixth day flexible for that reason. See the best time to visit Turkey before you pick dates.

Private transfers, daily breakfast, a Bosphorus cruise, a full-day Cappadocia tour and visa assistance are included. International and domestic flights, the Turkey visa fee, the balloon flight, a cave-suite upgrade, other meals and insurance are extra. Read our Turkey travel guide or see all Turkey tour packages.

  • Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapı Palace in Sultanahmet
  • A Bosphorus cruise and an evening in Galata and Karaköy
  • Cappadocia's cave settlements, fairy chimneys and valleys
  • A flexible spare morning for an optional sunrise balloon flight
  • Only two hotel bases in six nights

Day-by-day itinerary

Your trip expert can stretch, shorten or swap any day.

  1. Day 1: Arrival in Istanbul

Land at Istanbul Airport and meet your driver for the private transfer to your hotel. Check in, rest after the journey and keep the evening easy. If you feel fresh, take a short walk around Sultanahmet to get your bearings. The next two days cover the main sights, so an early night helps.

    Night in Istanbul
  2. Day 2: Sultanahmet: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapı

Spend the day in the old city, where Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapı Palace, the Hippodrome and the Basilica Cistern sit close together. Start early to avoid the crowds and heat. Finish with time in the Grand Bazaar. Do not try to fit in more, because the sights here deserve slow visits.

    BreakfastNight in Istanbul
  3. Day 3: Bosphorus cruise, Galata and Karaköy

Take a Bosphorus cruise in the morning, then cross to Galata and Karaköy for views, cafés and narrow streets. Add Dolmabahçe Palace if you prefer more history. Keep both shores of the Bosphorus from filling the same day, because traffic and ferry gaps use up time. Have a relaxed dinner in the evening.

    BreakfastNight in Istanbul
  4. Day 4: Fly to Cappadocia

Transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Cappadocia. Your driver meets you on arrival and takes you to your hotel, usually in Göreme. Settle in and spend the afternoon at leisure. If you plan a balloon flight, confirm the booking now. Avoid a long outing today after the travel.

    BreakfastNight in Cappadocia
  5. Day 5: Cappadocia valleys and an underground city

Join a full-day tour of Cappadocia with valley viewpoints, cave settlements and fairy chimneys. The tour includes an underground city, one of the region's most distinctive sights. Travellers say this kind of combined route covers more ground than separate short trips. Return to the hotel for a quiet evening together.

    BreakfastNight in Cappadocia
  6. Day 6: Spare morning and a flexible day

Use this day for the optional balloon flight at sunrise, if you have booked one. Wind or fog can cancel flights, so this spare morning gives you a second chance. After that, rest, walk in a valley or enjoy a Turkish bath. Do not plan a long transfer straight after the flight.

    BreakfastNight in Cappadocia
  7. Day 7: Departure from Cappadocia

Have breakfast and check out. Your driver takes you to the Cappadocia-area airport for your flight onward to Istanbul and home. Allow plenty of time for your connection, and keep your documents handy. If your flight is later, enjoy a last slow morning at the hotel before leaving.

FAQs

Istanbul Cappadocia Honeymoon 6N: FAQs

What travellers ask about this trip. Your trip expert can answer anything else.

Is 6 nights enough for a Turkey honeymoon?

Six nights suits a two-base honeymoon: three in Istanbul and three in Cappadocia. It leaves time for the old city, the Bosphorus, Cappadocia's valleys and a flexible balloon morning. Pamukkale, Ephesus and the coast do not fit comfortably, so choose a longer trip if you want them.

Is the Cappadocia balloon ride included?

No. The balloon flight is an optional extra because prices change and flights depend on weather. We keep a spare morning in the plan, because wind or fog can cancel the first attempt. Your planner can add the flight to your quote and book it early.

What does the honeymoon package include?

Six nights in comfort-category hotels on twin sharing, daily breakfast, private airport transfers, sightseeing by private vehicle as listed, a Bosphorus cruise, a full-day Cappadocia tour and visa assistance. Flights, the visa fee, the balloon ride, other meals and insurance are not included.

Can I upgrade to a cave suite?

Yes. A cave-suite stay in Cappadocia is a common honeymoon upgrade, and your planner can quote it in areas such as Göreme or Uçhisar. Book early for April to May and September to October, when demand is high and rooms fill quickly.

When is the best time for this honeymoon?

April, May, September and October are the most comfortable months, with mild days for touring. Summer is hot, and winter fog can cancel balloon flights in Cappadocia. Our [best time to visit Turkey](/turkey-travel-guide/best-time-to-visit/) guide has the weather month by month.

Does the package include flights?

No. Our packages are land-only, so international flights are booked separately. The domestic flight between Istanbul and Cappadocia is also extra unless your quote lists it. Nonstop flights run from Delhi and Mumbai, taking about seven to seven and a half hours. Other cities usually have one stop, with total journey times of about nine and a half to eleven hours.
