Arrive at Denpasar airport and meet your driver for the transfer to Ubud. Bali traffic can be slow, so the day stays light. Check in, rest and enjoy your hotel at your own pace. Ubud mixes Balinese arts, temple ceremonies and rice terraces, and you will see them properly tomorrow. Dinner is open, so you can choose a place that suits the children.
Spend the full day around Ubud with your driver. Start with the rice terraces, then explore the arts and temple side of town. Ubud centre gets crowded, so the day leaves room for breaks and easy walks that suit children and older family members. Return to the hotel for a rest, then enjoy a relaxed evening.
Check out after breakfast and drive to Sanur. The coast here is calm, which makes it a gentle base for families. Settle into your hotel, then walk by the beach or simply relax. Keep the afternoon free, as tomorrow starts with an early boat. Sanur is the main launch area for boats to Nusa Penida.
Take an early fast boat from Sanur to Nusa Penida. Enjoy the cliffs, offshore viewpoints and snorkelling where sea conditions allow. Roads and paths on the island are demanding, so the plan covers a few stops rather than the whole island. Allow buffer time, as return boats can be delayed. Return to Sanur for the night. Lunch is on your own.
Transfer from Sanur to Nusa Dua after breakfast. Nusa Dua has calm, well-kept beaches and resort facilities that suit families. Spend the rest of the day on the sand or relaxing at your hotel. Keep the evening easy. Tomorrow's outing to Uluwatu starts from here, which avoids a long cross-island drive.
Drive to Uluwatu to see the limestone cliffs and the temple above the sea. Stay for the sunset Kecak performance. The temple is not a full-day stop, so you have free time earlier in the day to enjoy the Nusa Dua beach. Your driver takes you back to the hotel after the show.
Have breakfast and check out of your hotel. Your driver takes you to Denpasar airport for your onward journey. Bali roads are busy, so leave with generous time in hand. If you have a few spare minutes before leaving, take a last walk along the Nusa Dua beachfront.
Flights are not included.
FAQs
What travellers ask about this trip. Your trip expert can answer anything else.
Yes. The plan uses three bases with two nights each, so you unpack only twice more after arrival. Each day has one main road transfer at most. Sanur and Nusa Dua offer calmer beaches, and a private vehicle keeps travel easy with children or older relatives.
It covers 7 days and 6 nights: two nights each in Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua. Day 1 is arrival and day 7 is departure. Bali suits six to nine nights, so this length gives a good first look without rushing through every beach town.
It includes six nights in comfort-category hotels on twin sharing, daily breakfast, private-vehicle transfers and sightseeing as per the itinerary, the Nusa Penida excursion and visa assistance. Flights, other meals, entry fees, insurance and GST are not included, so plan for lunches and dinners separately.
May, June, July, August and September are the best months, as Bali's dry season suits beaches and outdoor touring. May, June and September are less crowded than July and August, which are the busiest months. November to March is wetter, with more frequent showers.
Yes, you can discuss changes such as adding a night or swapping an area. We suggest keeping to three or fewer bases, because traffic makes Bali road journeys slower than maps suggest. Extra stops often mean more time in the car and less time with the family.
