Kenya Trip Cost

Quick answer

Our Kenya packages are priced on request for now, because our research does not hold confirmed prices. The main drivers are trip style, the parks you visit, the season and what is included. Peak safaris in July to October cost more. Flights, visa fees and insurance are separate.

Facts checked 3 Nov 2026

Kenya costs vary with trip style, the number of parks, the season and the level of accommodation. Our packages are land-only and are quoted per person on twin sharing. Ask a planner for a written quote, excluding GST, that lists every inclusion before you decide.

What a package covers

Our packages cover accommodation on twin sharing, private safari transport for game drives, transfers as per the itinerary, and visa assistance. The inclusions for each package are listed on its page: see the Kenya Safari 6N and the Kenya Tanzania Safari 9N.

What drives the cost

  • Season: July to October is the main safari season and tends to cost more. October to December can offer lower rates than the peak in some cases.
  • Parks and transfers: more parks mean more road time, and more transfers to arrange.
  • Trip length: our two package lengths are six nights and nine nights.
  • Accommodation: the packages use comfort-category accommodation, and a planner can adjust the level on request.
  • Currency: the Kenyan shilling (KES) is used, and exchange rates change, so check the rate before you travel.

What is not included

Flights to and from Kenya are not included. Visa fees, travel insurance, meals not listed in the itinerary, entry fees and activities not listed, personal expenses and GST are extra. Check the exact list in your written quote.

Money tips

Compare quotes by what is included, not only by the headline figure. Ask whether park entry fees are included, and ask how many transfers the quote covers. Keep a note of the exchange rate on the day you book.

How was this guide compiled?

FAQs

Kenya Trip Cost: FAQs

Short answers to what travellers ask about Kenya.

How much does a Kenya safari cost?

Our Kenya packages are priced on request for now. The price depends on the trip length, the parks, the season and what is included. Ask a planner for a written quote per person on twin sharing, excluding GST, so you can compare it with what is included.

Why does the cost change by season?

July to October is the main safari season and costs more than the shoulder months. Our research says October to December can offer lower rates than the absolute peak in some cases. Ask your planner for the rate for your dates before you decide.

Are flights included in the price?

No. Our packages are land-only, so flights to and from Kenya are booked separately. Our planners can suggest timings from your city. Flight costs depend on your route and dates, so ask for current options before you budget.

Is the visa fee included?

No. Visa assistance is included in our packages, but the visa fee is separate. Our research does not give the fee for Kenya, so check the official source for the current charge before you pay.

Which currency should I budget in?

Kenya uses the Kenyan shilling (KES). Budget in rupees and check the exchange rate on the day you pay. Compare how much you receive before you exchange money or pay by card, since rates and fees vary.

Does a longer trip cost more?

Usually, yes, because more nights mean more accommodation and transfers. Our two packages are six and nine nights. Ask your planner to show the difference in the quote, so you can see exactly what each extra night or park adds.

What extra costs should I expect?

Entry fees and activities not listed in the itinerary, meals not listed, personal expenses, travel insurance and GST are extra. Ask your planner to confirm park entry fees and any optional activity costs before you book.

How do I compare two quotes?

Compare the inclusions first: accommodation, transfers, game drives, visa assistance and what is excluded. Then compare the price per person on twin sharing, excluding GST. A written quote that lists every inclusion makes the comparison fair.
