Kerala Family Holiday 6N is a six-night route for families: one night in Kochi, two in Munnar, one in Thekkady, one on a private kettuvallam in Alappuzha and one in Kovalam. It suits families with children who want tea country, a spice estate, a backwater night and a beach, with comfort-category hotels on twin sharing.
You arrive in Kochi for a Fort Kochi walk, drive up to Munnar for two nights of tea country, and move to Thekkady for a spice-estate visit and Periyar views. The next day you board the private houseboat through paddy fields and village canals, then continue to Kovalam for a relaxed beach morning before departure on day seven.
The price includes daily breakfast, dinner on the houseboat night, a backwater cruise and all transfers and sightseeing by private vehicle. Flights or train tickets, other meals, entry fees and activities not listed, insurance, tips and porterage are extra.

Arrive in Kochi and meet your driver. Check in at your hotel and rest after the journey. In the afternoon, explore Fort Kochi. Walk its colonial streets, see the Chinese fishing nets and stroll along the historic waterfront. Allow extra road time between the airport and Fort Kochi, as traffic can slow the drive. Return to the hotel for an easy evening.
After breakfast, drive from Kochi to Munnar. The hill road winds through the Western Ghats, so the transfer is planned for daylight hours. Carry a light jacket, as the air turns cool in the highlands. Take short breaks on the way as your family needs. Check in at your Munnar hotel and spend the evening at leisure.
Spend the day around Munnar. Walk among tea plantations and visit highland viewpoints in the Western Ghats. The pace is relaxed, which suits children and older travellers. Wear closed shoes with good grip, as tea-estate paths can be wet. Return to the hotel in the evening for a second night in Munnar.
After breakfast, drive from Munnar to Thekkady. This is the only long road transfer of the day. Check in and rest. In the afternoon, visit a spice estate near Thekkady. The evening is free. If you travel between November and February, book limited-capacity Periyar park activities early.
After breakfast, spend the morning enjoying Periyar landscape views near Thekkady. Then drive to Alappuzha and board your private kettuvallam. Cruise through paddy-field backwaters and village canals. Dinner is served on board, and the boat moors for the night. Check boarding access in advance if you travel with young children or seniors.
After breakfast, leave the houseboat and drive south to Kovalam. This is the day's only long road transfer. Check in at your hotel, then relax on the sheltered Kovalam beach. Check sea conditions before swimming and use marked bathing areas, especially with children. Enjoy a quiet evening by the sea.
After breakfast, enjoy a last morning at Kovalam beach, or see Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala's capital, and its museums. Check out and transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey. June to September brings heavy rain that can disrupt road travel and boat services, and October can still see showers in the south and centre.
