Australia Classic 9N is the first trip to Australia's main highlights in nine nights. It moves across three bases: Sydney for the harbour and the Blue Mountains, Melbourne for laneway culture and museums, and Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef and the tropical north. It suits first-time visitors, couples and friends who want a balanced mix of city life and nature.
Days one to three are in Sydney, with the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, the Manly ferry and a Blue Mountains day trip. You then fly to Melbourne on day four and spend three nights exploring its laneways, arts districts and museums. A free day lets you rest or add an optional Great Ocean Road tour as an overnight route.
Days seven to nine are in Cairns, with a Great Barrier Reef day cruise, a rainforest day to the Daintree or Kuranda, and time on the Esplanade. Every transfer on the ground is by private vehicle, with breakfast daily and visa assistance included. International and domestic flights, the visa fee, insurance and scenic flights are extra.
Your trip expert can stretch, shorten or swap any day.
Land at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport and transfer to your hotel in the Sydney CBD by private vehicle. Check in and rest after the long journey from India. In the evening, take an easy walk along Circular Quay to see the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Keep the first day light, because the route ahead has several bases and domestic flights.
Spend the day on Sydney Harbour. Walk around the Opera House and take in the Harbour Bridge views from Circular Quay. Take the Manly ferry for a short harbour crossing and a walk on Manly Beach. Return to the city in the late afternoon, when the light over the harbour is at its best.
Travel by private vehicle to the Blue Mountains, a few hours from Sydney depending on traffic. Walk one of the valley trails and enjoy the viewpoints over the forest. Keep the walking pace comfortable, and carry water and sun protection. Return to Sydney for the evening, where you stay in the same hotel.
Transfer to Sydney airport for your domestic flight to Melbourne, which is booked separately and timed with your planner. On arrival, transfer to your hotel in the Melbourne CBD. Spend the late afternoon exploring the central streets and a laneway café. Check in early and plan your rest before the evening.
Explore the laneway culture of central Melbourne, with its cafés, galleries and street art. Visit the Royal Exhibition Building, a UNESCO-listed heritage site, and one of the city's arts or museum districts. Choose a relaxed lunch and an early finish, since the city is walkable and spread across several areas.
Use the day at your own pace. Visit Southbank, the food districts or a museum you prefer, or simply rest in the hotel. Ask your planner for a quote if you want a Great Ocean Road tour, but plan it as an overnight route rather than a rushed day trip, because the viewpoints need time.
Transfer to Melbourne airport for your domestic flight to Cairns, which is booked separately. On arrival, transfer to your hotel on the Cairns Esplanade. Spend the afternoon by the water and plan the reef trip with your planner. Tropical north weather is warm, so take the rest of the day at an easy pace.
Board your reef day cruise from Cairns by private vehicle transfer. Snorkel or join a guided reef activity, depending on what the operator offers that day. Reef departures can be delayed or cancelled by sea conditions, so your planner keeps a buffer in the schedule. Return to Cairns in the late afternoon.
Choose the Daintree Rainforest for a guided walk through the rainforest, or Kuranda for a village and rainforest day. Both trips take a full day by private vehicle. Carry insect repellent and water, and wear shoes suitable for rainforest tracks. Return to Cairns in the evening.
Enjoy breakfast and check out of your hotel. Your driver takes you to Cairns airport for your departure, leaving enough time for check-in and security. If your flight is later in the day, use the morning for a last walk on the Esplanade or a short rest.

FAQs
What travellers ask about this trip. Your trip expert can answer anything else.
Nine nights covers three bases well: Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns. It gives you the harbour, the Blue Mountains, the laneways and the reef. Adding Uluru or Perth needs more nights and extra domestic flights, so ask your planner for a longer version if you want them.
Nine nights in comfort-category hotels on twin sharing, daily breakfast, private airport transfers and sightseeing by private vehicle, a Blue Mountains day excursion, a Great Barrier Reef day cruise and visa assistance. Flights, the visa fee, insurance and other meals are not included.
No. The package is land-only. International flights to Australia and the domestic flights between Sydney, Melbourne and Cairns are booked separately. Our planners can suggest timings from your city so the domestic sectors fit the itinerary.
Yes. Sydney CBD and the harbour area suit most first-timers. In Melbourne, the CBD is the most central base. In Cairns, the Esplanade is the usual choice. Tell your planner your preference, and the quote is adjusted.
April to May and September to October are comfortable across the southeast. May to October is the best window for the Great Barrier Reef. December to February is hot and busy, with higher prices, so book early for those months.
Reef trips depend on sea and weather conditions, so the operator can delay or cancel a departure. Your planner keeps a buffer day in the schedule and offers an alternative such as a Daintree or Kuranda day, so the reef visit is not lost.
